Gaining new web design clients

Sometimes the best ways are the old ways.

Using social media and technology can be great for attracting new clients but I have found that one of the best ways is pound the pavements and deliver leaflets yourself around the local area.

I have had a great response nearly every time I deliver a batch of leaflets around Bearsden, Milngavie and Glasgow.

Andrew Gillies of Argomas Ltd is one of my recent clients who first contacted me after seeing a leaflet I delivered.

Here is his website I developed. Argomas Ltd Glasgow

ARGoMAS Ltd has evolved into a unique “one-stop-shop” independent consultancy, providing specialised business management system services to a wide variety of business sectors in Glasgow, Scotland and the UK.

Sustainable office

Here is a short list of energy saving and  sustainable practices I deploy in my office.

  • Keep all devices and computers on ‘Power Saver’ mode.
  • Reduce paper use.
  • Collect coffee grains and tea bags for my garden compost.
  • Avoid wasting food and recycle any leftovers.
  • Use as much natural light for the office as possible.
  • No air-conditioning. Keep blinds closed on warm sunny days when office is empty and ventilate well.
  • As I work from a home office there are no transport costs unless I visit a client outside Bearsden or Milngavie.
  • I use energy efficient lighting in my house and office.

These are just some of the practices that I implement on a day to day basis in my sustainable office. If you have any other suggestions that I could try out then let me know?

I will be highlighting more sustainable work practices over the coming days and weeks.

Webmaster role

I am now the webmaster for Pollok House Arts Society. I have updated their site to include all the latest news and concert information.

The site is a little old fashioned and is not responsive, but it looks good on desktop and laptop.

Here is a quote from their site “For over fifty years Pollok House Arts Society has been bringing world class artists to perform in the intimate surroundings of Pollok House. The society owns its own Steinway concert grand piano, the king of concert pianos since the 1880s. This has paved the way for some amazing concerts.”

I am available for any updates needed to your websites, for either one off changes to the site or a long term contract. Contact me on 0141 577 9405 or use the contact form to send me any details.

I have been performing webmaster duties for many organisations for nearly 15 years on a freelance basis. I am based in Bearsden near Glasgow but I can update sites anywhere in the UK or the rest of the world.
